SHOULDN’T WE BE WEARY?....D'Ola

If you see darkness around you always

Would you not get worried?

Not for the presence of darkness itself

But for the absence of light

If you hear and see evil daily

Shouldn’t you be troubled?

Not for the presence of the malefic itself

But for the scarcity of good

If you see a beggar today

And suddenly tomorrow he’s rich

Will you bother yourself?

Will you pause and debit a smile from your face?

If you see the ‘righteous’ becoming

Zaccheuses not wanting repentance

Will you marvel and credit a wink?

If a shepherd fleeces his followers

Instead of feeding them

Will you question him or leave him to ‘God’?

If you see a teacher

Saying 16 is greater than 19

Or, 5 is senior to 26

Wouldn’t you ask what mathematics it is?

Common in our midst are old men

Rubbishing their elderliness in high pruriency,
lusting after children.
Will you buy their idea of idleness –blaming the devil?

Won’t you query if the devil is not the one talking already?

With the prevalence

Of irksome irrationalities in Nigeria

Shouldn’t we be weary
Of the End Time?
