"AND TODAY IT IS" BY D'Ola

The weather says it
the time knows it
Animals sensed it
Terry barked all night long

Hear the birds sing their best songs
Hear the frogs croak like never before
Listen to the breeze, the melody is
Like that of harp and tambourine

And today it is,
Where we draw the curtains on one cycle
And unveil the next!

Where nostalgia takes it's toll,
And laughter makes one a tool!

Where gleefully in one's subconscious
The joy of another round of grace
Triggers acres of gratitude from a plot of  heart!

Happy today!
Happy day! xx

EXCHANGE OF PLIGHTS......

Games Village
Whispering trees of the affluent,
harbouring creative witches!
making evil more evil,
Taunting more and more

Blistering anger of the nescient
courts potential danger
subbing the anus for the brain
greasing ignorance more and more

BLOOD ON THEIR TRAIL!

We have in our hands
a situation of unbelief

Our elders have gone mad!
And there is no sign of relief

Bloody markers write our names in uppercase!
Who's next, whose turn is to cry!

JOURNEY

My Dear,

 I hear
 There is no shortcut
To your heart...

I'm willing
To take the long road
You have built

But do this
For my journey's sake

Let there be
Warm hands of welcome
When I arrive
Joyful tears to refresh
My hurt-stricken soul
Soft heart to caress
 My lowly spirits
To a love-high life

Before I resume
My role as your heart-throb

Let there be
A lighted room
A pruned lawn
A table of white sheets
Beautifully made
A flowing pen
A prepared place
For me in your heart of hearts
I will do the rest...

Anyanya Bassey!

FALLOW HEART

I found a heart left fallow

 In the land of hurt
 I did a little clearing
And planted kind words
But oh the words ne'er rooted

NOSTALGIA by D'Ola

I fear not the night!
Our lives have brighten'd it up!
Love is in the air!
It has our complexion- its neither dark nor fair!

Blood In Borno...by D'Ola

Blood in my hands,
the enemy has struck again!
Here in the East of Borno!
Vultures thrives and have made a niche

My house has been razed!
The smell is of cushion and flesh!
My property destroy'd,
my conscience pierced!

The turgidity of my mind!
now re-engineer'd towards revenge!

HE RAPES AGAIN!................by D"ola

Call that man a warrior?
He fights the vulnerable
He pins them down with his fist as armour

He shadows their movement,
acting with preciseness,
only to attack to their bemusement

He raped me, twice but once
the first with his seeming innocence
the second with his violence and lustful pounce!

I traded with him words as a Kindred
he ignored and persisted the more,
all he wanted was my cherry-red

The agony was much!
The thoughts alone killing,
I felt my life in flesh, and yet out of touch!

Arrest that rapist!
twice he has escaped the cops
he charms them and his arrest is kept on resist

Now, I suffer in pain
He sees me and act being in fame
Oh! fire of shame please rain!

Lest you repent, may footsteps of evil draw near you
daily in reality and in dreams
Just as death catches up with you

May the lives you have shattered
call for your gut
and your name be ecstatically battered

The sun shall smite you by day
even as cold torments you by night,
this minute, this day!

A GIANT’S LIFE.......by D'Ola

Twisting fortunes of a giant
That can’t help but fight like an ant
Making decisions that needs no decryption
Of how the results yielded
To the calls of poverty and starvation
In high pitch
To the awe of his children
What matters before now doesn’t
As he craves for pleasure without measure
In him resides,
The Bubbling spirit of antagonistic thoughts
Reigning supreme in glare testimony
Of how badly hurt his sense organs are
His skin, scaly insulting sensations
His eyes, infected with luxury
Wanting more than necessary
His mouth, deformed – consequence of being mealy mouthed
His hands, overstretched beyond its elastic limit
Stressed and Strained in awesome corruption
Trained to steal without vision
Of what tomorrow’s joy holds for generations yet unborn
Darkness dominates his house in general merchandise
Of hide and seek games
Between Bad leadership and corruption
Lacks foresight and can’t use his hindsight
To dispense justice without rancour
Controversially tongued to lease and cease
Leases trouble without season
And fans injustice with accuracy
To the know of those that are close to look minutely,
In need of good governance
Devoid of morally bankrupt ideas,
Intellectually deficient noble polices.
Now more than fifty years after
Hope lies everywhere wanting more resolution
From an uncommon generation of people
Ready to change the chemistry of the status-quo
Regardless of fashion or trend
